Wendy Cohen, MD

I grew up in the small town of Hopkinton, NH.  After receiving a degree in Molecular Biology from Kenyon College, I spent a year living in Costa Rica, teaching preschool and volunteering in a public hospital, while becoming fluent in Spanish.  Having fallen in love with caring for patients, I returned to the US to apply to medical school.  After receiving my medical degree from Stanford University I returned to New England for residency training in family medicine at Brown University in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  During this time I was fortunate to be able to work in Cuba and the Dominican Republic, and gain perspective on how health care is delivered in other countries.  I stayed on at Brown for a one year Fellowship in Maternal Child Health, pursuing additional training in prenatal and obstetric care, care of the newborn, and family planning.

After fellowship, I spent five years practicing full spectrum family medicine with obstetrics at a group practice in Attleboro, MA, followed by 3 years at in outpatient family medicine practice in Easton, MA, before leaving to co-found Infinity Family Care with Dr. David Cunningham.

I pride myself on helping my patients feel more self-efficacy regarding their health and giving them concrete tools and realistic goals.

In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my husband, Eric, and two sons, Noah and Gabe, having dinner with friends, reading a great book and going to Broadway Shows when possible.

Outside of direct patient care, I volunteer as Medical Director and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the SAFE Coalition of Massachusetts. SAFE is an amazing grass-roots non-profit organization providing wrap-around care to individuals experiencing substance use disorder and their families, and supporting local schools in combatting issues of substance use and mental health challenges many of our kids are facing.

As a physician, small business owner, I have been also been honored to be involved with, and serve on of the Board of Directors of the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce.

When I first learned about the Direct Primary Care model, I was thrilled to finally find a system which values taking the time to give each patient the care and attention he or she needs. It has been inspiring to witness Infinity Family Care evolve so much since we first opened in 2016, including flexing to be able to provide accessible, personalized patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am excited and grateful to be able to continue to care for patients the way I envisioned when I decided to become a family physician.
